Bio
Kristen Froebel has worked creatively in the Twin Cities for over thirty years.
She studied piano with Martha Baker at McPhail School of music and privately with Phyllis Peabody. She received her B.A. in Critical Theater Practice from the Program for Individual Learning at the University of Minnesota, with an emphasis on the ethics of cultural production. She trained at Boston University in the Independent Theater Program, studying the Kristin Linklater vocal method, at the Trinity/La Mama program in New York City, and the Children’s Theater Company and School.
Kristen began teaching piano and voice in 1997. She taught in the choir school at Plymouth Church for ten years and has played saxophone with the Brass Messengers since 2004. She is currently the director of The Piano Lab in Seward, teaching voice and piano to all ages.
